Class Descriptions:
Ballet
Ballet classes are taught by a professional dance teacher who promotes posture and poise, discipline and confidence in all children. The building blocks of ballet technique are encouraged early in our classes through using imagination and expression, raising levels of confidence and self esteem, in a caring, positive environment. Ballet classes also support the development and improvement of motor skills, improves coordination as well as attention and listening skills.. Ballet is fun and a great way to keep fit, it is great for children to learn even if it is just to help with confidence
Tap
Tap classes are full of fun where you make noise with your feet, in time with the beats of the music! Tap dancing is a great way to build confidence and allows you to express yourself. Classes will help to develop balance and to keep rhythm using the entire body. Tap is also a great way to aid learning in many other dance forms. Where else can you make lots of noise, dance and make music simultaneously?
Street
Street Dance classes are bursting with energy and fun! Street Dance is a great way to help to improve stamina, fitness, strength and coordination, whilst developing self-esteem, a sense of rhythm and creative expression through powerful movements to music. No set technique, great routines, funky R&B music and a fantastic way to keep fit.
Cheerleading
Cheerleading has many of the same benefits of gymnastics and dance plus a team element. Routines are choreographed using music from hit films like ‘High School Musical’ and lots of modern pop music. The classes will teach all about cheerleading moves, chanting and pom pom dance. It is a great way to keep fit, improve confidence to work as part of a team.
Tech Jazz
Jazz dancing is a form of dance that showcases a dancer's individual style and originality. Every jazz dancer interprets and executes moves and steps in their own way. This type of dancing is energetic and fun, consisting of unique moves, fancy footwork, big leaps and quick turns. To excel in jazz, dancers need a strong background in ballet, as it encourages grace and balance.
Zumba
Zumba is broadly advertised, so no doubt you will already be aware of it! However everybodies Zumba Class is different –
Zumba combines low-impact, high energy dance movements, with intervals of fast and slow rhythms. Depending upon your level of intensity, you’ll burn between 300 – 1,000 calories per class!
Suitable for all levels of ability, the steps are easy to follow so everyone can do them! Just remember to keep moving and most importantly to have fun.
Booiaka
Time to up the tempo. Pronounced, ‘boo-ya-ka’, this high-energy dance form fuses a variety of different styles, from Brazilian to hip-hop, via reaggaeton. Set to fun, fast beats, classes are an enjoyable way of working out the whole body – not to mention burning a good few calories. Booiaka’s signature movement? Booty-shaking – a pretty good sign that this workout is anything but boring…
How does it work?
Booiaka fuses elements of Latin, Brazilian, Jamaican, hip-hop, old school and reggaeton dance styles, combining them with R&B, hip-hop and African music. Although it sounds like there’ll be a lot going on, movements are built up steadily, step-by-step – so you needn’t worry about picking them up.
Classes typically last 90 minutes, giving you plenty of time to get comfortable with the moves and unleash your inner dance diva…
Booiaka’s moves haven’t just been designed to make classes enjoyable – they also help to provide an optimised workout for the whole body. Engaging all major muscle groups, and placing focus on the arms, legs, glutes and core, Booika helps to tone as well as burning fat – blasting up to 700 calories in just an hour.
Raunch
So many women are unhappy with the way that they look, feeling the pressure from the media to feel thin, to be glamorous and be able to balance being a perfect mum, super career woman and domestic goddess. It is possible to get lost within all of these pressures and forget who we really are- we really are Wonder Women!
Raunch is a class that wants to remind all those ladies out there who have gotten lost, that if we strip them down to their bare bones (not literally) they are already the most awesome creatures, wonderfully designed and put together. The diva within them just needs a little coaxing.
This class is aimed at all women of all shapes and sizes, from all walks of life, with one thing in common; the desire to feel fabulous. We’ll give you an experience of unity, support and bags of fun. We want you to walk away with your head held high, a new sense of self worth and spring in your step. So get ready to pout, shimmy and smoulder into a new era of self confidence.
